I was born in Beirut in 1958 and have lived in various US cities since 1970.
Since High School I have worked as a medical records database clerk, a law firm database manager, an International Flight Service Manager, a Marketing Manager for Eastman Kodak, and an International nightclub DJ, with many nano-careers in between.
I have carried a camera everywhere for as long as I can remember. Nothing is too mundane or too intimate for me to photograph.
My enormous personal archive of over 300,000 photographs needs daily replenishment. Feeding the archive has become an incentive to seek and lead an exciting life full of research and experience.
In return, the archive itself has become a tool to organize my personal history in such a way that my focus has changed from being a simple observer/documenter to becoming central in planning events and producing virtual communities emanating from varied visual projects. My new medium is people and my core influences are relationships, democratic principles, and the effects of involvement and contribution on the quality of the collective.
