Antistrot SARA TECCHIA ROMA, NEW YORK A central influence on Antistrot is what they term the "Complete Saturation" of image available to us. Antistrot, a Rotterdam-based collective of illustration students who began collaborating in 1997, seek to confront our visually choked condition by crowding around one canvas to simultaneously create wall-size drawings and collages that can be viewed from any direction. Imagery is heavily sourced from comic books, advertising, graphic design, typography, and graffiti, making for a giant, performative specimen of dadaist doodling.
